Born at the Middle

The cross, for me, is not a formal religious symbol,
Although it started that way.

And yet, I find it deeply moving.
Probably because its the shape of a human,
Fully open, arms extended, in Surrender.

And in the middle of this Surrender
Is a precious egg.
The symbol of beginnings.

And the egg is in a special box,
The symbol of protection.

And so, I suppose,
That the Vulnerable new thing
Protected by a Strong, yet Open thing,
Is why this makes me cry.
