Everything happening all at once, or the strange dimensions of Time, is the subject of my work, in which I trace three experiences of Time:

-Time frozen by trauma

-Time as eternal in deep meditation

-Time as a momentary position in space-time

As a psychotherapist, generational trauma survivor and student of consciousness, I’ve witnessed the most fearsome and awe-filled events of human life and how they change Time.

I’ve witnessed minds broken open by trauma, slipping on Time like ice, suddenly and fearfully. And I’ve experienced the still Time of deep meditation when the cold ground gives way to the warm embrace of eternity. And I’ve known Time as the fourth dimension of space-time, relating to the modern physics of precognition.

My work, abstracted landscapes and dreamily symbolic oil painting, explores all three of these experiences of Time, particularly post-traumatic growth opportunities that lead to an expansion of consciousness. Formally, my researched-based painting practice borrows from the theatrical chiaroscuro lighting of the Old Masters, elevating the personal to the universal with its spotlight on human drama.

Modern Tonalists, especially Richard Whadcock, inspire me to invoke a sublime psychological atmosphere toward inner reflection. Surrealist elements invoke deep dreamtime, where blurry memories and hypnotic symbols link to the ancient psyche--and maybe even back to the source of it all.
