Slices of Time
Physicists Kip Thorne and Michio Kaku say that time travel is imaginable within recent theories of physics. Because Space bends, Time bends.
A river might cross from New York to Pennsylvania, then twist back over an invisible line, back to New York.
If Time bends like a river, and we float within it, we too can float forward and backward over invisible boundaries of Time. If the river encircles itself, as in an eddy, it creates a “slice” of Time in concentric circles.
In this piece, stacked next to each other, the slices of time flow backwards and forwards above the colorful spatial realm below.
I repeat these shapes of Time to help my 3D mind adapt to a 5D idea. Almost impossible, yes. But worth the effort for the incredible possibilities for our future.
Oil, acrylic paint collage and cold wax on paper, unframed.
